Dear Journal,



It has been several years since I had the notion to start one, but I never did find the time to actually write my thoughts down. Now that I have moved here, I seem to have plenty of free time. Of course, it helps that people aren't trying to kill me here.

But I must say...the people here are rather odd. There is no discipline within this group, no sense of direction. One of the things that I miss about Japan...the dojo, rather, was that discipline. True, I practice a dying art. But there was control there. Hmm. Perhaps I should start my own.
